About Us
We were married in 2016 at a ceremony on the Farm, then owned by Carrie's grandparents. In December of that year, we made the farm our home. Since moving to the farm we have worked hard to make many improvements and have plans for many more. We are very involved in our local community and beyond. Both of us are 4-H volunteers with the local 4-H Beef club, Tyler is a member of the county FSA committee, Tyler is the vice president of the New England Galloway Group (NEGG) and we both are active members of the NEGG. Joining us on many of our adventures is our loyal Australian Shepherd Bailey, she is truly the face of JB Farm.
The Farm
JB Farm is owned by Tyler and Carrie (Butterfield) Jenness. Originally a dairy farm owned by the Butterfield Family, we now raise registered Hereford and Belted Galloway Beef Cattle, Pigs, Chickens and Turkeys. We produce maple syrup from our families maple orchard, we currently have around 500 taps and produced over 120 gallons of syrup in 2023 with plans to expand for the 2024 season. In the Summer months we make hay from our fields at the farm and several other fields near by, the hay we make is used to feed our cattle throughout the winter. We also exhibit our cattle at local fairs from August-October. The third week in September we can be found at Farmington Fair with our cattle on display and supporting our local 4-H Beef Clubs Food Booth.
The Store
Looking for a way to get our products from farm to you, we decided to renovate the old milk room to a farm store. We sell our own farm raised meats, canned goods, maple products and bakery items. Our livestock is pasture raised with a well balanced diet. Our canned goods are family recipes, making our products "Just like Grandma used to make". Ensuring your family is getting quality wholesome food is very important to us. We opened the store in October of 2020 and have been busy adding products ever since.
